Description
This add-on connects Yoast SEO with WPML so the SEO fields you fill in with Yoast can exist in each language of your site. When you send content for translation, WPML carries the on-page SEO elements along with it. It also handles global SEO strings, taxonomy metadata, schema markup, and multilingual sitemaps.
Key Features
- Translate On-Page SEO Elements – The SEO values attached to a page or post, such as its title, meta description, URL slug, image captions, breadcrumbs, and social metadata, get translated together with that content.
- Translate Global SEO Texts – Site-wide SEO wording, for example the homepage label used in breadcrumbs, can be located in the Other texts (Strings) section and sent for translation.
- Translate Taxonomy Metadata – SEO titles and meta descriptions set on categories and other taxonomies can be sent for translation from the Translations dashboard instead of being edited manually per language.
- Translate Schema Markup – Structured data types that Yoast supports, including product, recipe, review, and FAQ markup, are regenerated from your translated content.
- Multilingual Sitemaps – Original and translated content are organized into a sitemap so search engines can find pages in every language.
- Hreflang Tags – By default WPML places hreflang tags for each URL variation inside the XML sitemap, and a setting lets you move them into the page head instead.
Who Is It For
It is aimed at site owners and developers running multilingual WordPress sites who already use Yoast SEO and WPML and want their SEO fields translated rather than re-entered by hand. It suits anyone who needs translated titles, descriptions, slugs, and schema to appear correctly across languages.
