Description
This add-on registers a Downloads content type in WordPress where each post holds one protected file. Files are stored in PMPro's protected directory and access is granted by membership level. Downloads can be shown as links, buttons, cards, or in a full library.
Key Features
- Membership Level Access – You choose which membership levels may download each file, and anyone without the right level sees a locked state instead.
- Protected File Storage – Uploaded files sit in PMPro's protected directory so they cannot be reached through a direct URL.
- Any File Type – You can upload any file type straight from the WordPress block editor.
- Multiple Display Templates – Each download can appear as a link, a button, or a card, depending on where you place it.
- Download Library – The library block and shortcode gather all published downloads in one list or grid.
- Non-Member Call To Action – Locked downloads show a button that sends visitors to checkout or the membership levels page.
- Replace Or Remove Files – You can swap the attached file for a new one or delete it, and members lose the download link until a new file is uploaded.
Who Is It For
This add-on is for membership site owners who distribute digital files to paying members, such as course providers, exclusive content sites, or any business that needs controlled file distribution. It requires the Paid Memberships Pro plugin and the WordPress block editor.
