Description
This Gravity Perks add-on lets you attach a one-time fee to the first payment of a PayPal Standard subscription built with Gravity Forms. It works by using PayPal's trial period functionality to simulate the fee, since PayPal Standard has no native one-time fee on subscriptions. Note that the perk is deprecated because the feature is now built into the Gravity Forms PayPal Standard Add-on.
Key Features
- One-time fee on first payment – You can bill an extra amount on the initial payment of a subscription, separate from the recurring charge.
- Setup fee example – A typical use is charging a setup fee when someone signs up for a service such as web hosting.
- Trial period simulation – Because PayPal Standard lacks a native one-time fee, the perk reuses the trial period mechanism to produce the same effect.
- No trial plus fee – Activating the one-time fee turns off the trial period options on the PayPal feed, so you cannot use both together.
- Product field or form total – The fee can be taken from a chosen product field or from the form total.
- Subscriptions only – The one-time fee option only applies to feeds set to the Subscriptions transaction type.
Who Is It For
It is aimed at WordPress site owners and developers who build Gravity Forms forms with PayPal Standard subscription feeds and need to charge an initial setup or enrollment amount alongside the recurring payment.
