Description

Schedule Indexer is an add-on for FacetWP that handles re-indexing on a schedule instead of by hand. It adds a WP-Cron event that triggers a full re-index, running hourly by default. Because the add-on covers re-indexing, automatic indexing should be turned off to avoid overlapping indexing events.

Key Features

  • Recurring WP-Cron re-index – The add-on registers a WP-Cron event that runs a full re-index on a repeating schedule, hourly unless changed.
  • Disable automatic indexing – FacetWP's automatic indexer, which re-indexes a single item when it is edited or saved, should be switched off while this add-on is active so indexing events do not run at the same time.
  • Hook-based disabling – As an alternative to the setting, the facetwp_indexer_is_enabled hook can disable automatic indexing from a child theme's functions.php.

Who Is It For

This add-on is for FacetWP users whose content changes often and who want facet indexes refreshed on a set schedule rather than manually. It suits site owners and developers comfortable adjusting a setting or adding a small filter in a child theme.
