Description

Local Pricing is an add-on for Paid Memberships Pro that displays an approximate membership price in the visitor's own currency at checkout. It detects where the visitor is located by IP address and converts the level pricing using current exchange rates. The goal is to make pricing clearer for international visitors.

Key Features

  • Local Currency Display – Checkout shows the membership price converted into the currency a visitor uses at home.
  • IP Geolocation – The visitor's country is worked out from their IP address rather than being chosen manually.
  • Real-Time Exchange Rates – Conversions use live exchange rate data so the displayed figure stays current.
  • Open Exchange Rates Setup – You connect the add-on to the Open Exchange Rates API by entering an App ID in the payment gateway settings.
  • Country Discount Codes – A discount code can be tied to a country so only visitors from there can use it.
  • Custom Exchange Rate Filter – Developers can replace the default rate lookup with their own source through a filter.
  • Testing Constant – A wp-config.php constant lets you simulate a visitor from another country while testing.

Who Is It For

This add-on suits membership site owners who sell to an international audience and want prices shown in the visitor's own currency. It is relevant for businesses operating in several countries that want checkout pricing to feel familiar to overseas visitors.
