Description
This add-on connects Paid Memberships Pro with bbPress so you can turn forums into members-only spaces. You choose which membership levels may view and participate in each forum, and non-members are redirected with a message you write yourself. It also works with the forum features of BuddyBoss.
Key Features
- Membership-level forum access – Pick the membership levels allowed to see and post in a given forum, which protects both the forum's topic list and its individual topics.
- Custom error messages – Write the message shown to people who try to open a forum or thread they are not allowed to see.
- Member forum links – Add links to members-only forums inside the Member Links area of the membership account page.
- Hide member forums – Keep restricted forum content out of the forums list and search results so non-members do not stumble on it.
- Role-based forum settings – Give members of a chosen level their own forum role, which is reset to the site default if the membership is cancelled.
- Level reply highlighting – Set a background color for replies written by members of a specific level, and target those replies with a CSS selector.
- BuddyBoss support – The same access restrictions can be applied to forums running on the BuddyBoss platform.
- Show membership levels – Display a member's level next to their replies and on their bbPress profile page.
Who Is It For
It suits organizations, clubs, and other community-driven sites that run bbPress or BuddyBoss forums and want discussions limited to paying or registered members. Site owners who already use Paid Memberships Pro can apply their existing levels to forum access instead of managing permissions separately.
