Description
This addon builds custom options pages in the WordPress admin on top of Advanced Custom Fields, giving you dedicated screens for site-wide settings. Values entered there are stored globally rather than on a single post or page, so they can be output anywhere in the theme. Pages can be registered through the ACF interface or with code.
Key Features
- Global Options Pages – Field values saved on an options page are stored site-wide instead of being tied to one post or page, so the same data can be used across the whole website.
- Admin UI Creation – New admin and sub-admin pages for editing ACF fields can be set up through a dedicated interface instead of only through code.
- Link Existing Field Groups – An options page can be connected to a field group you already have, or you can build a new field group while creating the page.
- Parent and Child Pages – An options page can be placed under an existing options page as a child, letting you group related settings screens together.
- Menu Icon and Position – You control the admin menu icon and where the options page entry sits in the WordPress admin menu.
- Capability Control – You choose which WordPress capability a user needs before they can open the options page.
- Custom Data Storage – Instead of the options table, an options page can load its field data from a post, user, or term.
- Autoload Options – Turning on autoload loads the option records when WordPress starts, which the documentation describes as a performance improvement.
Who Is It For
It suits WordPress developers and site builders who already work with Advanced Custom Fields and need editable global settings, such as header and footer content, rather than per-post fields. It is also useful for agencies setting up reusable admin settings screens for clients.
