Description
WooCommerce Cost of Goods is a plugin that records what each product costs you and uses that figure to show what you actually earn. Costs are saved per order line at checkout, so past orders keep their original cost even if prices change later. Profit, cost, and inventory value reports are available by date, product, and category.
Key Features
- Product cost fields – You can enter a cost of goods for each product, including individual variations, so order totals reflect what the stock actually cost you.
- Costs saved at checkout – Each order line stores the cost that applied when the order was placed, so later price changes do not rewrite past order costs.
- Profit by date – A date-range report shows net sales, cost of goods, profit, and average profit per order.
- Profit by product – For any date range you can see an item's net sales, total costs, item profit, and number of purchases.
- Profit by category – Profit totals can be viewed for one product category or several at once over a chosen period.
- Most and least profitable – Reports rank your most and least profitable sellers so you can see which products deserve more marketing attention.
- Inventory valuation – You can see the total value of your stock, worked out either from retail prices or from cost of goods.
- Apply costs to past orders – After you set product costs, orders placed before the plugin was installed can be updated so older sales appear in the profit reports.
Who Is It For
This extension is for WooCommerce store owners and managers who need to know profit, not just revenue, and who want cost and margin figures for products, categories, and past orders. It suits shops that track product costs and want reporting and inventory valuation inside their existing WooCommerce admin.
