Description
Social Gallery is a WordPress plugin for displaying photos in a gallery layout inspired by social media. It opens images in a lightbox viewer where visitors can comment, share, view EXIF data, and see image tags. Photos can also be grouped into albums.
Key Features
- Social Media Gallery Layout – Images are arranged in a gallery layout modeled on social media platforms rather than a plain grid.
- Lightbox Viewer – Clicking a photo opens it in a lightbox viewer instead of leaving the page.
- Photo Commenting – Visitors can leave comments on individual photos from inside the viewer.
- Social Sharing Buttons – Sharing buttons let viewers post a photo to social networks.
- EXIF Data Display – Camera and shot details stored in a photo's EXIF data can be shown alongside the image.
- Image Tagging – Photos can be tagged, similar to tagging people or items on social platforms.
- Album Organization – Photos can be grouped into albums to keep galleries organized.
Who Is It For
This plugin suits WordPress site owners who want to publish photo galleries with a social-media feel, such as photographers, bloggers, and community or portfolio sites. It is aimed at anyone who wants visitors to browse, comment on, share, and tag images within albums.
