Description
This add-on makes GeoDirectory and BuddyPress run as one integrated app, so your listings directory and social network share the same users and activity. New directory users register through the BuddyPress registration form, and their listings and reviews are posted to their BuddyPress activity. Each BuddyPress profile is extended with tabs for submitted listings, reviews and favorite listings.
Key Features
- Integrated directory and network – GeoDirectory and BuddyPress operate as a single app, so your directory and social network share one user base and one activity stream.
- BuddyPress registration used – Once BuddyPress is installed and the add-on is active, new directory users are added through the BuddyPress registration form.
- Listings and reviews in activity – A user's listings and reviews are added to their BuddyPress activity automatically, so directory actions show up in the community feed.
- Profile tabs for directory – Each BuddyPress user profile gains tabs showing that member's submitted listings, reviews and favorite listings.
- Groups for engagement – Users can create groups, which gives members a way to gather around your directory and keep engagement going.
Who Is It For
It is for site owners already running GeoDirectory who want to add social networking to their directory, and for anyone building a community around a location, activity or special interest. It suits projects that need member profiles, activity streams and groups alongside business listings.
