Description
Werkstatt is a WordPress theme for photography blogs. Its front page scrolls sideways rather than down, and the design stays clean and minimal so images are the focus. It is a classic theme configured through its own options page.
Key Features
- Horizontal scrolling layout – The theme's front page moves sideways instead of vertically, giving images a gallery-like flow.
- Responsive design – The horizontal layout adapts to different screen sizes.
- Large single post images – Single posts can display images up to 1600px wide, or you can add image galleries.
- Grid archive pages – Archive pages such as category overviews use an open grid layout, which also changes how posts filtered by category, tag, or search term are shown.
- Four-column widget overlay – Widgets sit in a four-column overlay area that opens from a fixed-position Info button.
- Own options page – Theme settings are managed on a dedicated options page rather than the WordPress Customizer.
- Image-focused design – The layout is made for sites with many pictures and can be used to show images only.
Who Is It For
This theme is for photographers and anyone running an image-heavy blog or photography showcase. It suits site owners who want a calm, minimal presentation where pictures take priority over text.
